Enabling and Disabling Online Scheduling

The client portal provides your clients with the ability to schedule appointments online.  You may want to enable or disable this feature for a number of reasons, such as your office being closed for the holidays.  You can also elect to make online scheduling available only to your existing clients and not new clients or vice-versa.  Follow the steps below to toggle your online scheduling on or off.

Important:

Disabling online scheduling will disable it for the entire practice. If you need to disable online scheduling for individual clinicians, you'll need to adjust their portal availability from their staff profile. Click here or more on setting up a clinician's availability for the portal.

1. Navigate to the client portal area of settings

2. Locate the Client Portal Options widget

3. Online scheduling settings

There are two settings for allowing online appointment scheduling.  One for new clients and the other for existing clients.  

  1. Allow online scheduling for new clients
    This setting will either show or hide the 'Book My First Appointment" button that appears on the client portal login page.  This button is used by prospective clients visiting your website and portal for the first time and would like to book their initial consulation with you.  If you would rather have new prospective clients contact you by phone or other means before their first appointment, you will want to set the toggle button to the 'No' position.

    Pictured below is the button that will be hidden from the portal login page when this option is set to now allow online scheduling for new clients.

  2. Allow online scheduling for existing clients

This setting will hide the ' Schedule an Appointment' button found inside the client portal.  This is the button that your existing clients to view your availability and schedule appointments online.  If you would like to hide this option and not allow your clients to schedule online or temporarily disable online scheduling for the holidays, set this toggle button to the 'No' position.
